We met at the Powerhouse parking lot for our Dec river clean up, hosted by the 89er (OK City) Chapter of TU. The Tulsa chapter hosts the springtime cleanup. Probably had 25 volunteers. We split in to small groups and hit several different areas to begin filling our large garbage bags. We met again at the Watt's Property at 1100 and ate chili for lunch. The water was pretty clear, so I decided to fish after lunch before starting the 2 hour and 15 minute drive back to Midwest City. Since there was a good crowd at the Watt's Property, I went back upstream to fish. I estimate visibility at 24-30 inches. I failed to take the water temperature, but it felt pretty cold standing waist-deep in it. There were still quite a few cars in the parking lot by the bathroom at noon, but I found some open water. Started with a beadhead Sawyer's Killer Bug with a pink hot spot and a Snipe & Purple soft hackle in trail to fish some of the moving water. No strikes, so I switched to an olive micro jig and a size 22 white zebra midge when I started fishing the lake-like water. Caught 1 small (6-inch) largemouth bass and 6 trout. Most of the trout were typical 9-10 inch stockers; 1 was much more colorful; and 1 was about 13 inches with a very full stomach. Thanks to all who were able to help clean up the river. Tight Lines- Ken
