At least Morgan got in the video. I even had to look twice to make sure the guy with the black dog in the river wasn't me!!

Good for business, bad for the people that enjoy the river for flyfishing. And to use SB as the spokesperson for the fishing is just wrong. Should have used someone from this board or from the BBFS.

All I can say is "ARKLATEX?" The guy stepped out of his area. Maybe it should be called the "ARKOKLATEX." Yeah, seems they would want to use a guide from the local fly shop but--still the ONLY local fly shop?

I’ve never met or spoken to SB. I have no problem with him. He’s a boogeyman on the board bc he keeps fish and has pics all over his website with him with his fingers in the gills of big fish. There are some stories of him doing some illegal stuff while guiding clients but I’ve never really witnessed it myself. From what I understand in speaking to some of the guides down there is that he hasn’t done anything shady in a while that they have seen.
I wish he wouldn’t keep fish or let his clients keep fish. You would think that he would want there to be more fish in the river, not less, but he’s not doing anything illegal by allowing his clients to keep fish. It is a put and take river after all, and as long as he is in the right zone and doesn’t let each person keep more than their daily limit I have no issues with it. No different than any of the bait guides in Arkansas and you should see some of the techniques they use to catch fish.
All in all I think the fly fishing community would do good to make more friends and less enemies. Might be good to have some advocates for us out there one of these days.

Pretty much what Turfdwag said....... that horse is dead from being beaten so much. I Haven't had a run-in with SB since before the floods. I don't know him personally, nor his family, and I hope they are good people when not on the river.
