Headed down to LMF this weekend, been tied up with work and haven’t had time to make it down.
Anyone been the river lately l? How’s the fishing been?
Any hatch’s coming off? And if not hatching what has been working?
Thanks guys!

Two words: Spring Break.
Two more words: People everywhere
Two final words: Don’t go!

JR is pretty much spot on unless above average crowds don’t bother you.

There are people everywhere. Pretty sure the Youth Trout Tournament (stream purification) is coming up as well.
It's college baseball for me until the crowds diminish ...

Man, I wish they'd keep those logs out. That really opens up a few other places to fish.

Which logs are you talking about?
Any report on what flies are working? And we already have our cabin booked

The stop logs are back in, which means we lose about a mile of fishable water. They are in for recreation purposes from now until mid november.
March Browns are hatching and BWO's are still around. Midges are year-round. you might find some surface action if MB's come off.

Does anyone have updated photos of EH with the rock pile removal project? I was there a few weeks back and they hade removed at least half of the hill.

I plan to fish the LMF somewhere around the 28th, Lord willing and the weather allows. I'll be curious to see where they are with the Rockpile leveling at that time.

Have noticed several people talk of the hickory area I guess I’m not familiar with this area where is it located It's the stretch of water downstream from the evening hole bridge. The name comes from Hickory camping area which is alongside the stream there. Forty foot hole is at the end of this stretch of water. The stream makes a left-hand turn at forty foot hole. Day use area is downstream of the forty foot hole by a hundred yards roughly. Above Hickory hole, there is a series of runs and riffles as the stream comes out below Evening Hole bridge. Hickory hole is that wide stretch of water right there. JR

Wow! Thanks for those pics - it really puts into perspective the amount of work that has been done there. It's starting to show glimpses of its prior look. Although it won't ever be the same river, it is nice to find some added familiarity.
