My buddy and I are planning on making a trip to the river sometime soon. We were planning on late September/early October. We aren't trying to go at peak season, but we just want to make sure we go at a decent time of the year. Any inputs are appreciated!

September and October should be pretty good time to go. Kids should be back in school, so the crowded season should be drastically reduced.

I hope I’m wrong but I have a feeling that the way the water temps are right now August September and October could be bad months. I remember a couple of years ago we had early high water temps and they lasted until mid November. It’s just wrong to be wet wading in November with 70 degree water temps

Fall is a great time to be on the river.
My favorite time is December, January, and February. Smaller crowds in the park and camping is a lot easier.

What are the current water temps? How high did they get during July to now?
