Jonbo, i got those Orvis big eye hooks in the mail (still waiting on size 24 that’s back-ordered). Here is size 26...3X (yes you read it right) fits easily through the eye! Might effect the drift, but if the fish aren’t tippet shy, it just might be worth trying a heavier tippet. Who likes using 7X anyway? Anyway, gonna tie up some RS2, Black Beauties and anything else thats this ridiculously small and uses this style of hook. Ha, that hook will bend out long before your 3x breaks.

I want to know where they make quarters that big. Wow.... Probably Texas, everything is still bigger in TX.

Thanks, JP! I plan to get myself something like that next time I re-up. Can't wait to fish a 26 midge with 3x tippet!

For sure! But at least you'd know you could put a little pressure on them and not have to worry about 7X breaking off. Ha, that hook will bend out long before your 3x breaks.

I usually use my TFO 2wt that’s really slow action for small flies and the 6x and 7x tippet rarely breaks with it
