I’m at B.B. this weekend. Have the family at the cabin and the wife and I are celebrating our 29th anniversary. Haven’t been able to get on the river yet but have a guide for a trip in the morning. Don’t know what your Thursday or Friday looks but thought about a coffee or lunch to talk about your set ups.

I was in Missoula about 3 weeks ago with my wife and loved it. Didn’t see snow covered peaks like that though. Fished a little, caught a few small ones but overall realized I’m ready to get better at fly fishing and retire in 5 years. Have a great time and get out on a river.

Slim, My best friend I’ve known for 50 years has similar opportunities as you. He has sent photos of huge elk, mule deer, and wild hogs. I never was inveious until he sent me the photo of his first fly rod trout. Must have been 18-20” while drift fishing the snake. Then there was the float plane in Alaska and photos of trout around his feet. I.know you are telling the truth about a memorable trip. Darn shame I have bills that require me to be employed although I would like to cut the five year plan i half. Enjoy those days coming up will ya?

I bet you could make an awesome game changer with some shorter versions of that!

I have a couple in my streamer box but only used one once. Be aware the material absorbs a ton of water. You’ll need a rod with some meat to sling it correctly! The action is crazy on them.

Hopefully my 9wt comes back soon from TFO! She should have enough umpf to cast it! Also these are an absolute pain in the rear to tie!

Thank you for the post Slim I’m putting them in my calander and want to make the fly tying 10/16. Plan to head to LMF this weekend. Hope to fish a little but need to address some things a guest at our cabin wanted to trash.
