Now that I’ve moved to Tulsa officially for work and school I just so happen to live about 5miles from lots of hungry striper! Hopefully I’ll be able to get a day off once the baby is in day care to run over to the dam and chunk some meat!

One of the bigger ones from Monday and yes that’s a big ole 4/0 hook sticking out of its face. I caught quite a few smaller hybrids and whites on my smaller fly but wanted to put the 9wt through its paces. There were a few bigger ones about 30-40 feet beyond where I could case but all-in-all a successful day on the ark!

Good job trout !! That’s a, really nice fish. And on a clouser you built, is marvelous............
Are you wading or in a boat ?
You know winter is a good time on the Ark.

Does anybody fish Spey rods on the Arkansas? I would think that would be ideal to fish close to the bank and a good opportunity to learn the the two-handed rod.

Spey/switch, whatever. I’d like to eventually get a two hander. Would be a great way to fish any tailwater (White) on high water fishing on the bank. I know Redington has a few good rods at low prices. I think that will be my next graphite purchase. But for now, the bamboo fever still has me down.

Trout, have you been up on Keystone lake yet ? Lots of places to wade out on the sand bars and fish for sand bass and strippers. This time of year and in to winter it’s usually really good when the wind is blowing and shad are schooled up. Don’t you don’t have to worry about the river catching you on a sand bar.
I lived on Keystone many years if anyone needs a spot to try it let me know.

I haven’t made it up to keystone yet since I don’t have too much time with having a baby and work but I plan to try it out! Any helpful hints on places would help out.
