Brookies are so plain and dull..... This will be my first year since I started fly fishing that I did not catch a brookie. It’s not too late! The closest river with Brooks that I know of is the Little Red River near Heber Springs AR. That’s about 4 hours east of Tulsa. I'm planning to "hit" the LRR at the end of November. Maybe I'll get lucky and land a brookie. Congrats on your good trip to the Black Hills, Darrell, and pre-congrats for your second granddaughter.

Thank you! It’s good to hear from you. I may be interested in making a trip to the LRR next month as well. I haven’t made it over there yet this year.

Hey Darrell, we're going to be staying in Heber Springs over the Thanksgiving holiday week. We're staying at the one fishing resort there. I can't remember the name right now, but I think it's between JFK Park and Cow Shoals, or something like that. If you should happen to plan your trip for that time we'd love to visit and fish. Unfortunately we'll be staying in our wee camper so can't put you up, but we'd love to hang out.
