Wash your waders. When was the last time you washed them?
I don't fish as hard as most of you guys, but I try to take care of my gear. My G3's are still going strong after 5 years. After the inside was dry and turning them outside out, I sprayed them down good with Granger's Xtreme Repel and then let them dry again... I also use Granger's Performance wash as the detergent.
Tips from Simms.
The #1 tip to prolonging the life of a wader is drying your waders. It is important to dry your waders out after each use. We recommend drying the inside first (if damp) and then the outside. When drying the outside you can pull your gravel guards up until the feet are dry and then flip them down to dry the rest of the wader.
WASHING
Use a front load machine or hand wash. Use cold water and normal detergent that does not contain bleach. Once you have washed the waders make sure you dry them properly start by drying the inside first. Never put your waders in the dryer, the heat will adversely affect the seam tape on your waders and will void your warranty.

JP - you hit on one big downside of apartment living - impossible to do any of the above. Which is probably why I had to get some new waders this year.

I need to clean my waders for sure. Thanks for the reminder. When you make wader chili, they should be put on the first available campfire and burned! JR

I guess I don’t fish enough because I have never washed my waders and have never noticed them stinking. When I get home I wash them off with the hose then let them dry outside.

Mine usually smell worse on the inside than they do on the outside. Comes from being lactose intolerant.

I'm trying to kill my waders. I somehow bought a pair that's too small. They're not completely comfortable. But they're holding up pretty well, so far. They're about 3 years old.
