Hey all, the family and I are gonna be in the area next weekend and I was hoping to get a little help from you guys, tips, tricks, and maybe some lure suggestions. All I'll have is my spinning gear and really just looking to catch a few fish. Not really targeting any specific species(first trout would be awesome though). Any and all suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

You might try the pool at the very beginning of the steep section that's known as Spillway Creek. In other words, right at the base of the Spillway or secondary dam where the water is released. It's a large pool ,kind of foamy, and probably the coldest water in the river. Good for spinning gear I would think. Then go up and back across the Spillway. Just the other side is a small parking lot with an abandoned kiosk in the middle of it. We call that Cardiac Hill. Go down the trail/small road on the left hand side of it. You'll find another pretty good sized pool down at the bottom. I'd fish that thing with spinning gear, too. Especially, stand at the head of it and feed out into the bubble line a salmon egg or something with some split shot. Something will take that I'll bet.

Buy whatever spinners, hooks and bait they suggest at the fly shop in the middle of the Park.

I think you got some good responses here. I would say keep moving try new spots don’t get hung up in one area too long. Fish early in the morning. Or later in the evening. Keep moving. It will happen. If I were you I would use the smallest rapala I could find and chartreuse color.
I might get my account shut down on that last recommendation!!’n
