Any update on when the logs will come out? I thought I saw it on here that they may come out early this year?

Jeff said they aren’t coming out at all this year so the park can have year round canoe rentals.

Any update on when the logs will come out? I thought I saw it on here that they may come out early this year? Wasthere Friday and asked the question again. It depends on who you ask. Park manager told Pat he was going to try and pull them earlier and the kayak and canoe 🛶 rental place apparently have said they aren’t even thinking about closing until at least thanksgiving if at all

Ok. Stupid question. why is this a big deal? Opens up some good fishing water that is now way too deep

It opens up another mile plus of stream to fly fishing on foot. It also allows fish migration for the spawn. Not to mention the water BELOW the stop logs gets fresher, cooler, more oxygenated water. In the past, the fishing really turns on when the logs are removed.

That's a bummer if they don't remove them.

Always found it funny that they feel it is necessary to have stop logs in to kayak. A kayak will float in 3 inches of water. Not sure how having the stop logs out would prevent kayaking. Should leave them out all the time. Just another dumb thing they do at Beavers Bend.

Remember, these are all amateur recreationalists..... they want to float more than kayak. I see the point in having stop logs in the summer, but how many people will kayak/swim/float in the fall and winter? I was always in favor of seasonal restrictions, but I was in the minority.

Summer would be good for the swimmers plus providing some deeper water for fish to hold in the event of higher temps. But as you stated, no one swims during the fall, winter and spring. Logs should be out by Oct. in my opinion. As per the norm, no one seems to care too much about the trout.

I think another issue has been we are still seeing temps hit 90 this late in the year.
