I’m headed to the LMFR for the first time and was wondering about a good place to stay that’s convenient to the River. I don’t need the Ritz but clean with wi-fi would work. Thanks

How many people? The fly shop owners have a 4 bedroom, there son has a 1 bedroom and guides for the shop (Trey & Morgan) have a one bed cabin. I can give you the cabin names or you can call the fly shop. If those don’t work there are hundreds more but around holidays they fill up fast.

I have stayed at the Hochatown Country Lodge a few times and it was pretty reasonable. It is located right across from the intersection where you turn to go into the park.

Depends on what you’re doing. If it’s just you and a buddy on a fishing trip, usually opt for cheaper options like one of the hotels in town. There are a lot of cabins in the area and all are really nice, but they tend to be a little on the pricier side. I don’t normally get a cabin unless the wife is coming with me.

We have two cabins on the river below the 70 bridge. Great access to the river with a boat ramp for easy kayak launching.
And we get some decent trout fishing in the winter

Tell us more about this decent winter trout fishing below hwy 70 bridge texasraider 😀 We've only owned them for 8 months but earlier this year we were catching decent bows on rooster tails right outside the large cabin Also have caught some nice size largemouth and wipers. Neighbors have told me there are good size smalls and walleye but I haven't caught any yet.

It's not right at the park, but it's hard not to love how clean and well-run the Charles Wesley Motor Lodge is - Jay is awesome!

There are some monster gar below the Hwy 70 bridge. Some are as long as a canoe or small boat. Not to mention gators on further down. No thank you.
