My uncle is up there the week of thanksgiving and mentioned he spoke with a park cop that reminded him of the coming doom that is the casino and waterpark. Man I hope the state makes changes that'll be beneficial to the trout habitat.

From the few conversations I've had, it will happen, but sounds to be a few years out still.

What’s the concern with the casino and water park exactly? It’s not like beavers bend is some hidden gem that only a few people know about. The park sees over a million visitors a year. As far as fishing pressure goes, I don’t think that can get much worse than it already is. Only so many people you cram into a 2 mile stretch of water on a Saturday afternoon and we're pretty close to capacity as it is.
I think the development is good for the city of broken bow. Will bring jobs and tax dollars to a city that badly needs it.

Ive worked at the Durant casino for 12 years and asked my boss this same question a few months ago. It is still in the works but will be put on the back burner for some time. The tribe is currently putting bids in for a casino in Arkansas and another state not mentioned. The current Durant expansion followed with the three year highway project in Calera had people nervous what it would do to business. I dont see it being started for atleast 2 to 3 years and would more then likely be a 2 year project in itself.
