After a little break and several trips to Lady Blue, I am headed towards the Fork tonight. Can anyone give me an idea of how the fishing has been lately? I am expecting a crowded river tomorrow! Should I count on a trust midge and San Juan worm or the rainbows being a little more picky?

Christmas crowds. ditch the midges and go small with BWO nymphs and emergers. Get your flies down on a drift or swing them. Big fish everywhere if you like sight-fishing. Stockers at the stock points love egg patterns and PT's.
I'll have a group up there Sunday and Monday.

I fished Tuesday (Christmas Eve). Crowds were minimal, and fishing was great. I probably caught more decent holdovers than new stockers, which was a nice change. You should do fine with the fly selection you mentioned. There was an afternoon BWO hatch that appeared to be size 20 or so. Be mindful of the redds, I saw a couple of folks pillaging them.

I did well swinging BWO patterns like a soft hackle and RS2, both in olive, size 20. A couple on size 20 zebra midge, too.

Haven’t been since Trout Camp, but swinging soft hackles and deena streamer patterns produced lots of fish those few days.

Re-reg area is holding a fair number of stockers in the first couple of pools with not too much pressure (at least a couple days ago). Although there is a family of otters that seem to be feasting on them.
