Yearly family trip coming up next month. In-laws with my wife and I We rent a cabin up by hochatown. My father in law and I trout fish there a lot. But the past year and a half it's been hard for the two of us to get up there. This year we're going to fish some on the lake. We've seen a lot of points with road access. And want to see about fishing for some white bass and small mouth. Anyone have any luck there.

Shore access? Yeah, I tend to get a decent amount of action with Kentucky bass, and catfish if I put a couple lines out overnight. Early morning is key both for the fishing and to avoid the crowds. I digress a bit here, but in the winter months, there is a technique called float and fly for bass which is fished under an indicator with a small deer hair jig. That is another story but I think a relatively untapped opportunity for fly fishing in the lake. Smallmouth along the steep ledges but I cannot consistently catch them.
Bluegill along the edges of shore can be plenty of fun on a fly rod as well.

Awesome, I'll probably just take the spinning rod to the lake. Spoons, small spinners and crankbaits.
