Notice I said trip report not fishing report. Posting this “trip” report to give all a heads up. I had bought a new Fishpond Nomad Emerger Net, new sunglasses, and decided to make a quick trip up to fish 1 1/2 days to try out my new toys, and still get home by late Thursday (today) to help twins pack for return to college. I arrived B.B. around 3:00 pm on Tuesday, threw everything in the cabin, rigged fly rod, put on waders, and rushed to the river. What is going on? WTF! Long story short, the LMFR is in flood stage from Spillway all through the state park and beyond. The Fly Shop was closed yesterday and today. My understanding is that the recent heavy rains required lowering level of the lake but the Power Plant was inoperative due to some maintenance or repairs which required water, lots of water, to be released from the Spillway. Here are a few photos taken early morning Wednesday (1/13/2021) from Cold Hole Bridge, the E.H., and downstream from E.H. To give you a little perspective. Sorry but it was early morning and still dark. The good news was wife, dog, and I, got to hike several trails including Lookout Mountain and several others.
