This report is from today, 01/24/21. Weather was awesome and overcast, little to no wind and I wasn't freezing to death. I wanted to explore a bit around the area to see what got moved around or whisked away. Basically the area formerly known as rock pile run has been updated and I like it. A few of my fav spots are gone and some of my dependable rocks are buried under more rocks. The two old guys have a new friend so there are three old guys in the river now, fun. Down from the tree hobbits is a new deep (?) run and then a bend. EH is a little wider and has a cut bank that should be interesting to see how is settles. It's already claimed one victim that wouldn't listen to me, who kept walking on the edge. So if you're fragile be cautious of the edge of the banks. The bridge area is relatively the same. Alot of the finer sediment seems to have found a new home river left in Hickory Hole. I explored a short run of Spillway creek before I got distracted but almost everything is the same. As for the fishing, it was excellent. I started with the Bluffs just because it was empty and used a pre-rigged set up of a prince nymph, PT and zebra. All did well. There was a hatch of some of the most miniscule flying things I've ever almost not been able to see. Occasionally trout would come flying out of the water, usually after I'd given up on that run. By the time I made it to SC I had already replaced a few flies so there were some RFSHN, red tags, and yet more zebras in the mix. Maybe some trout were picky but there were enough takers of my offerings for me not to worry about selection too much. Here are a couple of pics.
