It’s a bit last minute, but I booked a campsite at Elm (EL004) December 10-12 for my last trip of the year and I would be happy to share it with other campers that want to join and make it a 2021 edition of “Trout Camp”.
I’ve enjoyed meeting people from the forum in the past years when Trout Camp was happening, sharing food, drinks and stories by the campfire. Covid and the reservation only system for the campsites kind of killed the event for 2020 I guess, but I thought it would be nice to continue to have this as an informal annual event.
I’m not sure what the tent occupancy limit per site is, but if there’s a lot of campers interested, the other campsites next to #4 at Elm are available for these dates as of now.

I’m not on the Foundation board, but I’m on the general board! Lol. I’m definitely interested and haven’t really met anyone on the forum.

I might try that! Although if I bring a lady friend, we may have to get a cabin. If it's just me and Magick, we're camping!

Bill, looks like the yurt is $151/night. Sleeps 4 with a queen size bed and a full size sleeper sofa.
Y’all need to come! Jeff, I promise, I won’t bring spinach stuffed croissants!

Well, December 10 is my company Christmas party in Texarkana. I could come up on the 11th. I'd love to hang with "all'a y'all" for awhile.

If the fishing is as good as I hope it is I might try to come back for Trout Camp 2021 after having FOMO from not going the other years

So do I bring anything besides my own things/food? I don’t know how this thing works! We have a cookout one night and everyone bring something or what? Just strictly booze and ready eats? Everyman for themself? Just wanna be prepared.

Yes, let’s say everyone bring something and we have a cookout on Saturday night! Even though not formally organized, I think we’ve always had at least one night with some sort of cookout the previous years. Always a great time. I usually cook a soup on the campfire and bring some cheese to grill in foil on the embers. Friday night, I guess we can do everyman/woman’s own food but still hang out for cooking & dinner at one campsite. Drinks all good too :-)

We'll probably swing by. Me and a buddy are camping in Hickory site this weekend. I reserved our site 4 months ago and someone booked right next to us with almost the whole site open. Geez. We'll come whiskey in tow, if that's ok?!?!?!?!?

Awesome man. Definitely not against whiskey, as far as I'm concerned! For those just joining the thread, it looks like we're going to have a Trout Camp meet-up at Elm #4 & 3 sites this upcoming weekend Dec 10-12! Cookout on Saturday night, so we can hang out at camp after a day of fishing where everyone might be on his/her own schedule. I'm planning on getting to the park early afternoon on Friday (ideally), pitch my tent, and then go fish for a couple of hours before coming back to camp probably when it gets dark. I think that there were a couple of Trout Camp "signs" that may have been passed around from previous years. Maybe ranger1965 has one? Or is anyone currently in possession of such a sign planning on joining this year? If not, I'll see if I can make some sort of sign. Looks like there's a bit of a cold front coming in on Friday night. But other than that, the weather forecast looks pretty good for camping this year. Hopefully the fish are not turned off by the front. In any case, I'm looking forward to the weekend, meeting new faces and maybe seeing some acquaintances!

A buddy and I will be there, but not until a little later Friday evening. We’re camping in Grapevine but will swing by Elm to share a beer and figure out where everyone plans to fish so we can high hole y’all! Looking forward to it
