Finally made it back to fish the river since world went crazy. Missed the Mystery Fly this year due to bad weather reeking havoc with work (refinery). First stop was fishing license. Cheapest I've ever spent on one (one day only). Next stop Fly Shop. Roberta was very helpful and glad to talk with her, ( still and will always miss Eddie). Picked up some caddis and bwo's and princes all size 18-20. Roberta pointed me to visitor center to pick up parking permit at the kiosk there. (stupid kiosk charged me TWICE for one day parking). Started at hickory hole after lunch. Water was nice only five others in the area, three fly fishing others casting. After an hour, (of no bites) of moving from canoe launch to bridge I crossed over to cold hole. One young lady was fishing near bridge, three others farther upstream toward the bluffs. I was just upstream from her when I switched from a dry to a prince. Five casts later and a small rainbow. Was happy. Easy release and back to casting. Several hits and misses, Then a take. Was excited to feel a big tug on the line, and feel a nice weight on the end. Adrenalin going and grab net, fish gets to surface and I'm thinking, "This net might not big enough!". Two tries and in the net. Young lady was kind enough to take a few pics and then a nice happy release back into the water. This was my personal best at BB. Happy Day. Light was fading and time to get back on t he road fo r home. Would add images, but seems it doesn't like them at the moment.
