Smoking

I can’t seem to find into about smoking is state parks. Am I allowed to smoke my tobacco pipe while fishing?

A bunch of people smoke cigars and I have seen a pipe or two.

Pretty sure the no smoking rule applies to inside park buildings only.

Talk about smokin' I last saw Jeff Beck perform this past October. For some reason now I am compelled to listen to "If I Could Only Remember My Name" while reading the boards. You have to be of a certain vintage to know what that means without having to Google it.  Anyway, there was a time I was in the Evening Hole about 50 feet downwind of a dad and his son smoking cigarettes and their cloud delicately hung in the breezeless air and sort of ever so slowly wafted my way and hung around me. I had to move. I was rewarded again when not only the dad and his son relit on the bank nearby but were joined by another son, a daughter and a mom who all simultaneously lit up and a much larger cloud congealed in the still air and ever so slowly came my way yet again the way some people swear campfire smoke follows them no matter where they sit around the fire ring. I did not enjoy their family cigarette break at all. Now come March there'll be a special election in Oklahoma  to make it a tad more skunky smelling on the water without benefit of the black and white animal to be found anywhere nearby. So much for having another hit...of fresh air as the Quicksilver song goes.

I quit smoking cigarettes when they were 50¢ a pack in the vending machines (1980). It was a thoughtless habit. But pipe smoking is a different matter. You don't rush out to the designated break area to grab a quick pipe. I smoke a pipe to relax after a long day at work. Or to ponder life while casting for trout in a country stream or panfish in a farm pond.
