Aaron,
I haven't seen any pictures or heard reports from people who have fished the Lower Illinois lately. A web site shows the flood control pool at 43% full, but no water being released to lower the lake level. There was no water released for power generation on Sunday and none scheduled for Monday either. Gore received 5 inches of rain this weekend, so that may change if areas north of Tenkiller also had heavy rain that will increase the lake level.
I don't have any information for the Blue River. I'm sure it's high from all the rain. The good thing at the Blue is: there is no dam, so no Corps of Engineers involvement in determining water levels!
It's so disappointing to see the pictures of the fly shop half under water and the spillway flowing way above the levels that caused so much damage back in 2009. With many floods there is nothing you can do. It just happens; some call it "an act of God". In this situation, it mostly man-made; the Corps needs to be help responsible for the damage they caused.
Our oldest daughter was at the fly shop last month, talking with your mom. She bought the last of the old-style cups to replace my tea cup that our granddaughter dropped on the tile floor and the handle broke off. Our prayers are with your family.
Thanks- Ken
