I'm taking a trip up to Denver to see my brother. I plan on stopping at the Dream Stream section of the S Platte before continuing to Denver. I've got a cool PDF map of the river with the "PDF maps" app. It has all of the names of the holes and such. Highly recommend it.
We also plan to camp at Lone Rock near Deckers.
Anyway I've read stream reports, etc but does anyone have experience on these sections of water? I know the Wigwam club has private water just upstream of where we are camping. I hope to get into Cheeseman Canyon as well.
For the Dream Stream...should I rig up my second rod and toss large streamers from the get go? (Or at least give it a go?) There are enormous fish there and I'd love to catch one... Is there a specific section or hole I should go straight to to maximize my chances?
Hopefully Aaron and I will meet up.

Dream Stream - when is the trip? October is monster lake-run Browns time! If you are targeting the Browns - weight, eggs, and anything red (BH Copper johns). Sight fish only, leave the redds alone. There are some sizable cutts that sit below the spawning browns too. Streamers only needed if you are targeting resident fish. The lake runs are in pre-spawn right now, waiting on a good cold snap to get them moving up from 11 mile.
The Canyon fishes well too. Mostly rainbows and browns there. All resident fish. Brown spawn has already started.
