Well no guides were available for the coming weekend and it looks like the weather is calling for rain. Any tips or recommended areas to focus on this weekend? Thanks for your help.

rain usually helps the fishing up there. Stay as dry as possible, that's a good tip! If bugs aren't working, go dirty and throw san juan worms trailed by eggs. Bright colors work better if the water is stained.
In the past, tinted water brought out some good browns on occasion, too.
Good luck

I was there last weekend, and in my opinion, the best fishing is going to be the upper part of the red zone, from the rock pile up to cold hole. I fished the evening hole Friday and Saturday and had some success Friday morning, but not nearly as much action as everyone was reporting in other parts of the river. Saturday evening nada. I don't think the fish population in that part of the river has rebounded to what it used to be quite yet, or it could be that I'm just not good at catching them If you're gonna be there on Saturday, be ready for big crowds and spooky fish. I would recommend getting up early and trying to be the first one to the bluffs or one of the holes around the rock pile. That seems to be where the highest fish concentrations are. Zone II is a good bet as well. I hooked a big fish down there Friday evening, of course it got off though. I went back down there Saturday morning hoping to tangle with that fish again, and after about an hour or so, two guys walk up and start fishing, one of them in the same riffle that I'm fishing! Keep in mind this spot is over a mile from the parking lot for zone II. I didn't walk all that way down there to fish elbow to elbow with somebody. Anyway, I was pretty p****d off about it. I should have said something, but I can't bring myself to be confrontational with people on the river. I just moved on.

I should have said earlier, basically cold hole is the demarcation line between the blue and red zones, and it starts right at where the bridge through the park has washed out. Best fishing will be in the red zone just below cold hole down to where the rock pile ends. I would take the first entrance to the park and follow 259A all the way until you can't go any further (there will be a barricade), park on the side of the road, find a good looking piece of water and go to work.

Dude, you're 6'5 and scary lookin' - just wade out a little and block. In red zone a little friendly close encounter is understandable on a busy day, but not in ZII.

I was fishing in the hole downstream of the EH rockpile on Sunday morning with my wife a bit downstream from me, and three fishermen with a guide were working the hole at the end of the rockpile. I was just below the riffle that comes from the rockpile hole, swinging a bugger downstream and one of the guides clients started across the riffle into the hole I was fishing, so I just turned around and cast towards him, dropping my fly about 5 feet in front of him. He turned back around and stayed away from me until we left...
