We haven't been up in quite a while. Just wondering if the Cold Hole Bridge has been rebuilt. Also, thanks for the update on the work being done on the river. We'll probably be up in late November or early December. Counting today, I have 20 more working days to retirement. I plan on being a fall/winter/spring regular... but summers will be spent elsewhere.

There was a mention somewhere of late winter into spring for replacement of cold hole bridge. All the other stuff will happen first.

Did anyone happen to find a fly box on Sunday afternoon about 100yards into zone 2? Dark tinted clear box full of nymphs. If so let me know, Thanks!

Does anyone know if they actually started working on clearing the rock pile this week?

Yes they are! I'm currently in the EH watching. They just started digging up at the rock pile river left side. It's already increased the flows quite a bit by the tree pile in the EH. The water is pretty muddy downstream but it only takes a couple minutes to clear up once they stop digging. I've been catching in between! Something large just jumped out of the water next to me lol Gotta go!

What I hope they are doing is taking every rock form that pile and pushing them up into the old bluff channel to try and make it shallower and more"trouty". We need more fishable water badly.

Are we to assume that they are basically finished with the EH project? It needed a definite facelift as it was basically void of structure and characteristics needed to become a trophy zone again.

So, is it correct to say that the big rock gravelly mountain has been all carved down now and redistributed? I wonder what's been done at the EH and at the Bluffs. Whoever goes up next give a report, please!

I don't think so. The headline on the foundation site says work has started not work has finished, and we've heard a few times that it was slated to take several weeks. I would imagine there's still more work planned. I was there this weekend and at the very least there's still a whole lot of gravel that needs to be moved to get rid of that gravel pile. It could be a situation where more work gets done periodically over a period of a couple years. It does seem to be coming along nicely though.'
Oh and the fishing was slooooooowwwww if anyone is wondering. Fished evening hole, zone II, and cardiac and caught one trout, about 12 inches long.

It was explained to me by foundation staffers that the river work will be done in increments where modification in various forms to make it a more inviting trout habitat will occur over time as funding and authorizations allow. Have patience, more work is to come in the future. No timeline given, continued improvements will come when they come over a period of months leading into next year. The important thing to remember is that they know they ain't done yet.
As for Dains slow day I wonder if all the rock crunching ruckus caused by the 'dozer work drove the trout away to wherever it is they go to avoid the sensory overload to their inner ears and lateral lines.

Good to hear the Browns are active. They tend to love the dries more than the stockers. I am curious too, so I may have to make a run up there to see the progress. Maybe catch a walleye, a brown, and a rainbow

We need more pictures of the improvements. Text is something, but pictures are worth more.
