Rainbows? Won't be any yet..... usually in December. The suckers are spawning right now. Possibly those Browns they just planted may do a false spawn too.

Jeff, Specifically I was referring to the hold over Browns & Rainbows. In past years there has been some signifacient spawning activity in the Evening Hole and above of these hold over fish. Has anyone seen any of this activity. Thanks.

Logs are still in - there won't be any spawning activity until they are removed. Logs come out in 2 weeks. Not nearly as many holdovers due to the flood last winter. The Browns will fake it, but they don't make any headway.

The first spawning rainbows are making their appearance. Make sure you familiarize yourself with what redds (Spawning beds) look like. There is absolutely no reason to fish to spawning trout. Don't be the person that does so. We want to continue to enhance this trout stream in whatever way possible and wild fish certainly help with that. Make sure you avoid walking on or even close to the redds as well. Also, if you see other anglers fishing to the spawners, please go out of your way to educate them politely as to what the fish are doing. Many people don't know and appreciate the knowledge. We are the only trout stream with stream born trout in Oklahoma. It is very unique for a stream this far south to have trout, let alone stream born trout. Let us all do our part to ensure the future quality of our trout stream. Leave the spawners alone!!!
Tight Lines, Peter
