Dang, I wish I could make it but school starts next week and being a cellular/molecular biology double major doesn't allow much free time. Maybe next time!

I'm excited about it! I'm considering taking my 10 year old son, but it might be too long for him.

I will be teaching a EuroDry class at the exact same time. It will be $19 and will consist mostly of me throwing dries while wearing a really tight fitting shirt and beret, whilst smoking a long skinny cigarette. No deodorant allowed for the men folk, and no shaving of the armpits for you ladies. See you on the wateur, ciao.

Is this going to be a French dry class or an Italian dry class? These are two very different techniques. The long cigarette and beret would lead me to believe that you're going to be French dry fly fishing but use of the word "ciao" instead of the French "au revoir" leads me to believe that this is Italian dry. Come on man, you can't stand in the river throwing French dries and speaking Italian. Those in the know will laugh you off the river like you were throwing the wrong nymph on 4X at cheesman canyon. Also, $19, what is that in euros? I'm not up to date on the exchange rate. Will there be an espresso break?

Dumb Dain, there are no native trout in Italy. It is a French dry class and TA will be reward those who attend with a 'french' kiss. That alone is worth the $19 (17.92 euro). Aurevoir (atlantic salmon), Auf Wiedersehen (german Browns), sayonara (getting close to taimen), and Unnuaqhatkut (native rainbows).

When I fished BB on the 26th, it was in the rain, all day. Evan and Frank were there. Basically, in waders up to my chest, a decent jacket and hat, if it's not coming down in buckets and there's no thunder/lightning, I barely notice it. And as Jeff said, the fishing tends to be good.

The latest forecast for Broken Bow looks OK (periods of rain), but not looking good for western/northern Oklahoma.
On Friday, a possible wintry mix of rain and freezing rain is expected. Could be another horrible ice storm. I have my fingers crossed that it's not that bad and ruin my trip.

To those putting on the event and those attending...
One forecast says flooding may result due to heavy rainfall across portions of south central and southeastern Oklahoma. It also mentions possible power outages from ice accumulations.
Broken Bow's forecast is rain with some thunder possible. I'm not opposed to fishing in the rain, but if flooding is likely, it could make for sucky conditions or unfishable conditions.
I'm not throwing in the towel yet based on a forecast, but has there been any consideration of moving the event?
I don't want to miss the event, but I also don't want to deal with ice storm fallout on Sunday when I'm coming back....if the forecast is accurate.

Good news = reservoir is really low. Bad News = anything west of dallas will be in ice, anything east (Beavers Bend) will be getting a few inches of rain. JP making a last minute decision, my 3 guys are coming to fish for sure.

With Evan's upcoming Spring and Summer schedule, it would likely be in Oct/Nov before we could reschedule. We will keep the event as scheduled for this weekend unless it does change to a bad ice/snow storm for Broken Bow. We may have to work around any heavy rain for the "On The Water" portion. For the ones that are going to be there, feel free to private message me your cell phone number and I can text you any time changes for the Upper Spillway part if we do need to change times due to weather.
Thanks Frank

Well, so far on my NWS page, for Broken Bow on Saturday I see a high of 63 degrees. That should preclude an ice storm or freezing rain by quite a bit. I guess the speculation on that is that there's a cold air mass to the west that could possibly shift east to include Broken Bow? I could see also that folks who live farther west where a possible ice storm is predicted might want to avoid traveling. The forecast also has "probable" showers and thunderstorms predicted before 7AM. After 7AM that prediction is lessened to "possible". The weather forecast does not seem completely dire to me, although still iffy. Of course I'm fortunate to live east of any predicted ice storm.
