Grant you are a funny guy. Disposable income ha ha
Had to pay Eddie and Roberta full price for the net but I like those folks so I don't mind. Got the rod used and traded a Fenwick FF806 glass rod for the vest. Now if I could save up gas, lunch, line, backing and reel money I can go try it out.
Troutbum you must be rich. $150 for a reel wow. I have two Cabelas Wind River reels that I bought for $19.99 and am mad that they are out of the size I want to put on the Sage.

I feel like I've spent about all the money I'm gonna spend on expensive gear. That cane rod at $450 was about the end. I do want to acquire a frequent flyer/travel rod, which I have found a company that makes one for under $100. I also want a new graphite 8-wt at some point, but again won't drop much money on one. Expensive gear is cool and all, but it doesn't make you fish any better... I'm tempted to break out an old blister package Shakespeare "graphite composite" on my next trout trip and fish it alongside the Sage Ones and the Winstons.

I just dropped a mortgage payment on the Cortland, the line, and a hatch reel. Wife said I could.....
Agree with Sage 2200 series though. Nautilus FWX used is a nice reel too.

$150 is cheap as far as some of the name brand stuff goes... and I have some Cabelas reels and only one has not had the drag mess up (the $80 one) so I figured paying $130 for a reel that would at least last me a bit was better than paying for those! My Taylor reels array was my most expensive reel, but it's on my 8wt which I use in saltwater and for big stripers so drag is important

Oh and hankinsfly the cabelas salt water rods are absolutely awesome 8wts. I believe it's basically one of the older sage salt rods (I could be wrong) and it's about $100 when the put it on sale

Ok I'm set. I got some SA Sharkwave GPX line on clearance for $39 and a Cabelas Prestige Plus reel on clearance for $29.99. I can still say I have not given more for a reel than the line.

I use a 10' 3 esn and my 10 2 wt syndicate for just about everything around here in pa. I have been using a 10' rod for about 7 years now and i doubt i ever go back to anything smaller.
