So I'm going on my honeymoon in late May/early June to California and I've managed to talk my fiancé into taking one day to go out and try for some golden trout. It's been on my bucket list and this is probably my best chance at trying for one. I'll keep you guys updated and any advice is welcome.

No advice bro, but I managed to squeeze in fishing on the Animas, the Pecos, and Oak Creek in AZ. So I guess my advice would be to not turn your honeymoon into a full blown fishing trip!

Runoff is going to be massive out in Northern Cali this year. 200% or more of normal snowpack. I hope you get to go where you want. Golden's usually take a day hike to reach.

AFAIK, goldens are in the eastern Sierras, like out of Mammoth. I witnessed one caught there on spinning gear many years ago. Me, I'd love to fish the Northeast California, but not really Sierra, classic rainbow trout streams. Hat Creek is one, I think, also maybe the upper Sacramento, or something.
