Hopefully my tent won’t leak you mean the roof of the Howard Johnson? $45 a night might not quite be a water proof roof

Might have some suspicious stains on the sheets too.

If you don’t do this, you should: Buy two Nalgene bottles and fill them boiling water before bed time. Throw in sleeping bag (well, don’t burn it) I call em my Old Man hot water bottles. Wineskins work well too ... when filled with brandy. Ay don' feeul col' (hic).

Watch for spawning fish and redds. They are everywhere. If you see light colored gravel amidst dark gravel, give it a wide berth. If you see a couple of big fish sitting shallow, they are probably spawning.
Speak up if you see people fishing to spawners or about to walk on redds. Both rainbows and browns are active right now. Don’t let the desire to get a grip and grin force you to fish unethically.
The river is fishing well. Have a good trout camp.

Alright, forecast is looking very wet. If that holds, then there may not be a lot sitting around the campfire after fishing. We might want to begin a conversation about trying another camp in Jan or Feb. What’s everyone’s thoughts? I for one am still going to LMF as planned. The Weather Channel predicts about an inch just Friday, and rain Thursday and Saturday. Might be a case of going then breaking camp and going somewhere else? I also don’t know what lots of rain does to the fishing/water clarity on LMF. Any input in that would be great. But then again, I’ve been at LMF with high chances of rain and storms, and nothing.

I would really like to hang out some and would love to meet more of you but my main thing is fishing so I will hopefully be there. The water always seems to fish fine during and after a rain. Honestly I sometimes prefer a tad of clouding in the water instead of super clear.

If I was coming, I’d be there Stephen... a canopy is like 50$. Even if you get a cheap 10x10 that only lasts a few outings it’s worth considering.

I’ll toss this in... My wife’s cousin oversees Group Camp ii, just around the curve from the fly shop. I can check to see if I can pull some in-law strings to see if I could get some special rates. There is a big kitchen that would be perfect for whatever weather decided to pop up, not to mention nice toilet facilities.
This idea was shot down straight away last year because of $$, but as I remember, I was never asked to check on the possibility of special pricing.
I see everyone making their plans to camp or stay out in Idabel or whatever, wherever... Now there may be a postponement..... I think it’s at least worth looking into.

I'll be pulling a small camper. I have 2 extra bunks in there for anyone. I'll be there Friday evening and Saturday evening. My camper has a little awning. That might help some. I also have a 10 x 10 (about) canopy for us to use. I'll go with whatever anyone wants to do. If y'all would prefer to put Trout Camp off till January (I'm not sure if that's what you meant, Stephen), I'll go along with that too, or go to the Group Camp-site, or whatever.

I’ve got a 10x10 canopy I’ll donate. I’m also bringing a load of firewood for the group pit. If anyone is interested in smoking something (meat), I’ve got a smoker already up there that I can drop off.

I'm planning on joining, rain or shine. As long as the cheese stays dry, I'm good. I also have a 10x10 canopy that I will bring. And a couple of these blue poly tarps that can be tied between trees to provide rain cover. Will camp Friday and Saturday nights.

Cool, it sounds like we’ve got some protection from the rain for the fire pit and cooking areas. Alright, I’m glad to know people aren’t afraid of a lil rain! Like I said, I’m committed to being there this week, Wednesday through Sunday. If it’s a bit of a turd floater, a toad strangler, or even a full-on gulley washer, we’ll be trout campin’. Danimal, you still in?

Hey Hank, I'd like to smoke a couple of cigars. I'm just not sure where to buy them here in Nashville, nor in Broken Bow/Hochatown. Do you think you could bring a couple extra? I'd like to buy them from you.

I'd like to buy them from you. Houchatown brewery has a good looking selection of stogies. I really miss them but I’m afraid since I’m a ex smoker it might trigger old urges. Like the saying goes “you cannot get into a bar fight if you don’t go into a bar”
