I haven't seen any posts on here, so I am making sure everyone knows of Eddie's passing this past weekend. Saw it on Reel Recovery's Facebook page, but I've seen nothing on BBSP pages.

Oh My! So sad. I never had the privilege to meet Eddie but my heart sank when I read the post in the link. My deepest and heartfelt sympathy go to Roberta, Aaron and deepest heartfelt sympathies to Roberta, Aaron and family. Prayers are with you!

He was awesome. Being an educator myself, we had something in common to chat about when I would catch him in the store. He saved that little shop from shutting down and built it up as well as the guide side of it. Even weathered the flood that took his shop down river. Hate that COVID got him. He's leaving a great legacy with the shop, though.

I made a brief trip to B.B. a few weeks ago and stopped at the Fly Shop for my looked forward to visit with Coach or Roberta when I learned he had been admitted to the hospital in Paris Texas and had been there since 1/13. I followed his status with PM updates from Jonbo - we did not want to post anything out of respect for Roberta and family but were deeply affected.
A tragic sad loss. Coach Eddie was absolutely one of the most open friendly interesting person I’ve had the pleasure and honor to know. He will be sorely missed.
Deep and sincere condolences to Roberta and the extended family.

My heartfelt condolences to his family and friends. He will be missed. Too many lives lost to this horrible, indiscriminate virus. This news breaks my heart. Such a great guy...
He would always laugh out loud when I would walk in and ask “Got any minners?” Rest in Peace, sir.

My prayers go out to Ms Roberta and his family. Eddie ("Coach". I always called him Eddie) will be sorely missed. He was an awesome man. I don't think I've seen such a outpouring of sympathy on Facebook for anyone as I have for him. When I came into the shop, He ALWAYS made me feel like he and I were the best of buds. I see that he was like that with everyone in his life.
As Oscar said above, several of us were waiting to post here until the time seemed right. We will miss you, Eddie (Coach) Brister. God speed!

My heart sank when I saw his obituary in the Nacogdoches paper a few days ago. I visited with him Thanksgiving week and had planned to spend next week there fishing. Looked forward to seeing him as much as I did fishing. Rest easy coach, you will be missed by many.

Really sad and sorry to hear about this. He was a real nice guy and I’m sorry for his family. I will keep all of them in my prayers and light a candle in church for him tomorrow. Gonna miss seeing him at the shop, LMFRF meetings, and at Mystery Fly.

This is such unfortunate news and certainly unexpected. I always enjoyed spending time at the fly shop catching up with Eddie. He was always one to take interest, share stories and ask about my family. He was a man of character and will be missed. My thoughts and prayers for Roberta and family.

Eddie will be missed, the river and fly shop will not be the same. Eddie has help many a fly fisher by kind words of advise over the years. Sympathies to Roberta and family for their loss.
