I spotted this insect on my camper while camping at Wright Patman Lake near Queen City, TX. Can anyone identify it? I really want to get better at identifying insects. My guess is that its some type of midge.

I think it could be a Crane Fly but I’m not very sure. The legs seem a little thick though. This website has really helped me identify insects and i often use it to tie more realistic-looking flies: Trout Nut - Crane Flies

It has all characteristics of a midge. 8 segments of the abdomen (including tip), bristled antennae, 6 legs, etc. Not sure of sub-name--color is different than what I usually see.
