Taking the family to the LMF this weekend. All five of us are going to spend a morning fishing (me, my wife, and three boys:6,11,15). I’ll probably run two flies below an indicator…..an attractor pattern up top, with and emerger or something down low. How long do you guys think I should make my tippet from fly to fly? I haven’t used split shot much, but should I have some above both flies? More weight above the top fly, or between the flies?
Any good spots I should take that would be good for the kiddos to get on some fish and be safe for them to get around? I have a couple of spots in mind, but thought I’d check here too.

Sounds like u already put some thought into it. I do a rough forearm lentgh between my flies, maybe 15- 17 inches. All the easy spots for I take my kid are prob on your list already. Y'all stay safe out there, traffic is already nutty out that way, throw in this holiday and all kinds crazy starts up.
I would say split shot depends on how heavy the attractor is & water speed? U might not need it or alot of it at least. Maybe someone with a more concrete theory will chime in.

Protect your sanity. Stay home. With all the crowds, you’re less likely to get tangled up with another fisherperson if you use a single fly. LOL
I wish you much luck!
