Hey there! It's been very quiet in here. Let's post something, maybe it will inspire some of you to share your own fishing adventures! No time to write about the whole story, but here's a photo report from a recent 3-nights camping & fishing trip at Padre Island National Seashore (PINS). This was my third trip down there. I had my fishing buddy from Dallas with me, and we had a friend from Austin join us for one day, along with his two awesome kiddos. Fantastic weather, great food, great friends, beautiful sunsets and sunrises. That was another fun trip. Now, saltwater fly-fishing in general is always a grind for me. But this rule of "cast, cast, and cast some more, and something will eventually bite" proved true once again. Overall, the lady fish, whitenings and neddlefish kept the action alive. And every now and then, some more "premium" fish would show up and play. I think I caught something like 8 different species of fish. You never now what will hit the fly next down there, which is always fun! Cheers! Gui

Sounds like a great trip! Where did you camp, near Corpus or further down toward Port Mansfield? Gotta say, I am surprised they allow open camping on the beach. That's a good thing they allow it.

We were about half way between Corpus and Port Mansfield. The 60 miles of beach are open to driving and camping year round. You just need to buy a 7-day vehicle pass for overnight stays ($25).
