I didn’t know which category to post this, but here it, short and sweet…
Stop Logs are out at the Swim Beach bridge. They took the ones on the end closest to the intersection of the River Bend Road and where you would turn to go to the Welcome Center or the Restaurant by the river.
Fishing today, Sunday, 02/04/24 was excellent, in my experience. I caught between 3 dozen and 40 fish. Some of them up to 18 inches. Most of them were between 12 and 16 inches. I caught most of them on soft hackles, but a good number of them came on black zebra midges drifted about 18 inches under a strike indicator.
I’m not sure when they stocked, but many of these fish appeared to be fairly fresh stockers. They were very aggressive fighters!
I do have pictures, but had rather not post them because it would be easy to identify where I was fishing.
Maybe not so short? But today was OH SO SWEET!

This is great news! I know where I'll be starting saturday morning. Is the ‘One Fly’ this weekend? That may explain all the magnum stockers. JR

Thanks, Hunt! I fished about when you did. I should have reported but forgot to. Sorry, everyone. Stocked trout were biting all up and down on about everything. The ones I caught were all about 10 - 12 inches. I caught one small brown. I found out late that the Swim Beach logs were out. Didn't fish it. I hope to next time I go. I'm pretty sure they left the Fly Shop Bridge logs in, so the Day Use Area flat isn't available. Bummer. The current park director doesn't like bothering with the logs at all from what I've heard. Bummer for us, but at least we can fish Swim Beach for awhile!

My son and I are coming up tomorrow and bringing one of my grandsons. I think the current park director would just as soon cancel all the fishing because it doesn't bring in nearly as much tourist money. Glad to hear at least some of the stop logs are out. We're primarily going to make sure my grandson has a good time. If any of you are on the river Monday through Thursday... we'll see you there. I think we'll be trying the Little Red from now on. This will be a bit of a nostalgic trip for my son and I. My other son was killed in an accident last June and the three of us have a lot of memories on the LMF... Sadly Hochatown and the surrounding area is booming with tourism development so it's not nearly as fun as it used to be. It's just too close to DFW and other metro areas... Hope to see a few of you up there...
