Hello, my wife and I are planning a trip to BB late Nov and would like to plan it not too long after a stocking. I called the hatchery there and asked him but he would only say every two weeks. I asked more specific dates and he would not give, citing that people had "chewed him out" if they did not catch fish those days. Kine of lame excuse I thought. Anyway, if anyone locally keeps up with the cycle, I would love to hear so we can book our trip. Thanks!

Good luck! Fly-fishing is like CIA.if they let out any info..they would have to kill ya..(only kidding) it's a tough crowd to get any info..follow the money$$ It’s not about being secretive really. People on this board are extremely forthcoming with information, if not too forthcoming at times. That’s just a question that gets asked all the time and people get tired of responding to it. ODWC stopped posting a schedule about two years ago. There’s probably several posts in the archives that talk about it. I’m sure the guides probably have a good idea of what the stocking schedule is, but they aren’t going to put that information out there in a public forum because their livelihood depends on there being more fish in the river rather than less fish. There’s always fish in the river though man. Wouldn’t worry too much about trying to time up a trip to the stocking truck. Anyways, looks like you and the kids had a good trip. Always fun to get the kiddos out and into some fish.

To add to what Dain said, I don't think most of us who post here a lot pay any particular attention to the stocking truck's comings and goings. We understand there's always plenty of fish in the river. They may or may not choose to bite at a particular time. As Dain said, the question gets asked repeatedly. I suggest doing a search of the archives. We don't know the stocking schedule. Several times, at least, I've given an extended answer to a first time poster, presumed newcomer to BB, all about where good fishing spots are, the rules, when they stock, etc., and never heard from that poster again. No thanks, no indication that they got my extended, somewhat troublesome to write message, nothing.

I agree jonbo, it is frustrating when you take time to try and help and they never even bother to respond or acknowledge your efforts.

I just noticed the original post was dated November 2016. Either this post sneaked out of hibernation or there is something wrong with the board clock.
Funny that this happened.
