Not that anyone is tent camping or wet wading up there this weekend but some who may have traveled up to fish might have learned this the hard way:
The Oklahoma Department of Wildlife Conservation will be having a controlled hunt in the river bend area of Beavers Bend State Park this weekend. The hunt is a bonus, draw only hunt, and the hunters were drawn earlier in 2016. It is not open to the public. The hunt begins at 12 pm Friday, January 6th and continues until Sunday January 8th. The river bend area of Beavers Bend State Park will be closed to the public during this event. The river bend area consists of Elm, Fern, Grapevine and Hickory campgrounds. The train ride and riding stables and the cold hole and evening hole fishing areas. As well as, the lower beaver lodge trail area. All other campgrounds and public use areas will be open and accessible. Please contact our reservations office for questions or more information regarding this event. There will be signs posted. Thank you
