I was planning on making a day trip to beavers bend tomorrow and was wondering how the fishing was and some places to focus on since I'll only have a day.

A couple of weeks ago Upper Evening Hole was full of fish. I had them biting on a PMD emerger-type, after going through everything else. I think others have had good luck with caddis. If you're tight-line nymphing you might try Spillway. Maybe GolferJeff or Hankinsfly will weigh in. I think they had good luck up there. GL!

The rockpile is full of fish waiting to crash on dries. Lots of fun. Tan, yellow, and in the film worked for me. Some big fish cruising EH as well. At new release of 140 CFS, spillway will be mildly off color and swifter than usual.
Let us know how it goes!

The euro-bro deal was cool. I'd rather fish by way of a real fly fishing cast and dries or swung wet flies, but the euro-bro is another tactic to use when needed. Again, no cast takes a lot of fun out of fishing with flies, but to each his own.

I brought my euro rod and regular rod, but I did so well nymphing I just didn't feel like getting the regular rod out! I hooked the one known as robin early in the day but unfortunately she got off, moved to spillway and caught about 40 browns before having to run to the fly shop to get a drink. I only managed 1 bow which is odd lol
