Thursday, we fished the Teton River near Rexburg , Idaho above the old Teton Dam that was destroyed forty one years ago when the new dam was commissioned. You can 4x4 down in to the canyon where the old lake used to be and the fishing is usually pretty good for cutts, even though today our biggest was about 17". There are some really deep blue pockets, spectacular bluffs and the river is braided in a few places. Thursday it was about 85F., no wind, and bright sun so it was difficult to get fish to come up for a dry fly, but we managed not to get skunked.

Here is a video taken 41 years ago when the dam was breached. It's unbelievable that the wrong fill material was used to construct the dam. Now that LMF has flooding problems, Rexburg was almost washed away.
If you go to Yellowstone stop and look at this place, it's really amazing. Some really large trout are taken here. Drifting is good as well.
