Hey Ya'll, Who gets cell service in and around the park and what carrier?
I know that with Verizon you have to get up on the dam overlook to get a signal and even that is sketchy. At&T phone on Straight talk gets limited talk/text. Cricket so far gets nothing north of red river even though At&T network. At&T service and phone gets limited Talk/text.

Internet - none in the park unless you have a hotspot. OK in Broken Bow and Hochatown

My AT&T phone and data worked fine while I was there a couple weeks ago.

There is supposed to be a public wifi service toward the back of the Park Office Bldg. The person at the counter told me that anyway.

Same here with ATT. A few years ago I had no service within the park or at Hickory campground. Last time I was there, everything worked fine so they definitely added a tower somewhere.

I've had no problems in the park with AT&T for the last 5 years or so. Before that, service was bad down on the river. I do, however, have a few problems once I drive into Broken Bow right after Idabel. The network switches over to Pine Cellular, but it always seems to have a hard time connecting and handing off.

I know what Verizon phones you have to drive up on to the damn or when the overlooks to get signal out and that's sketchy. My father-in-law still has Verizon phone. So every evening it's drive up to the overlooked call home. Last year I had gotten a new phone through Straight Talk and it was AT&T network. I had talking text down in Fern Campground and most everywhere in Broken Bow or Idabel. But Cricket that I'm with now uses AT&T network however when I was there in May with that phone I had absolutely no service once I left Texas. Think I'm going to get an AT&T burner phone for the next trip

Sprint only works at top of the dam.
Be careful with AT&T burner phone. I got one but wouldn't work. Must be on true att network and Beavers Bend service is actually on roam for att. They didn't tell me the phone wouldn't work on roam (and no refund, of course.)

There is a fairly new cell tower about 300 yards from my place 4 miles east of the dam. I assume it belongs to Pine Cellular. I have AT&T and get 4G max bars with no issues switching networks. In the past after an extended stay in the park, I'd have to reboot my phone on the way home which usually resulted in a flood of missed text messages.

So, if I'm reading this thread correctly, Straight Talk service might work in park? I have AT&T (go phone) and it doesn't work at all. My son has Straight Talk, and I could maybe switch phones for our next trip. Just trying to find a way to have service because my son is on an organ transplant waiting list. Simply cannot be without service, even if just for an afternoon. Heartbreaking, as we just love it at LMFR.

Att GoPhone does not work on Roam, therefore doesn't work at Beavers Bend. They failed to tell me that when I bought one for that specific purpose. However regular ATT service does work there, apparently on the Pine network. I now have ATT service and it works great.

I had been with straight talk for a few years. With a att phone It would roam and I'd get service in the park. at least enough to make a call or text.
