Or "Worlds" as its commonly referred to... I won't pretend that I've ever followed the men's WFFC, but I did follow the youth one last month when Evan was fishing. If anyone is interested it or the "Euro" thing at all, looking at the river beats, the rules, the lake sessions and the results are fairly interesting. Go here: wffc2017.com/It's no surprise that the French, Spanish, Slovakians, and Czechs are doing pretty well right now after 2 sessions. Obviously the beat you draw can have a tremendous impact on how well you do for a particular session, but this one French guy caught 57 fish in 3 hours. USA is sitting at 15th place at the moment...I hope Devin, Lance and the rest of the USA crew draw some good beats and can put some fish the net. GO USA!!!

Results for Session 3 are in. Seems our guys are still struggling and/or getting crappy beats, but moved up a little bit today. Devin Olson placed 2nd in his beat with 35 fish--missed a tie for first by 3 fish. He is sitting at 13th in the individual cumulative score. Some of the other guys did OK, but I'm sure not pleased with their results today.
More importantly, team USA moved up to 12th. French, Czechs, Spanish, and Slovakians are still killing it...
Two more sessions remain. Here is some bad juju (evil stink eye) going toward the French for making fun of those that are suffering from Hurricane Harvey.

Final results aren't in but it should be the French, Czechs, Spanish, and Slovakians in 1, 2, 3, 4... USA at 14th, bummer.
Shouldn't be too long before Devin Olson posts about the competition on his blog at Tactical Fly Fisher.
