My buddy caught this last weekend near the spillway. Is this a rainbow that hasn't gotten his colors yet?

I’m pretty sure it’s a chub or a relative of the chub

Geez. If that is chubby, I would hate to hear what you would call me.

Pretty sure that's a stoneroller.

Looks about the right size, color, and mouth shape for a stoneroller. They will be in spawn mode very soon. Sucker family.

Finally caught one of them this summer in Colorado.....Splake that is. Maybe that LMF Splake from a few years ago survived the flood .
Nothing like a fish ID to bring bradbessett out of hiding.

I caught this bad boy up in Taylor River in CO and have yet to figure out if it’s a laker or a Brookie

Looks more laker than brookie - forked tail, no red or blue spots, rear fins only 2 colors, etc. I haven't heard of Lakers in Taylor Canyon though....

There was about 4 of these in one weird curve in the river and this was the smallest one. They came full speed at a little streamer. I agree though that it’s awfully long and skinny though

Taylor Reservoir has lakers, sounds like a few worked their way upstream. Stream residing lakers do tend to be skinny form what I have witnessed.
