Looking at a new pair. Old Sims boots still are usable, they just have always been pretty tight when wearing wool socks and neoprene. I'll keep those for wet wading. Anyway, thinking about the Redington Palix River boots. I want boots with a thinner sidewall so the gravel things pull down easier over the boot. Reviews indicate they run big, so that's a plus. Anybody have experience with these? Thanks

I’m still rocking G3 Guide boots. I think I saw them on sale recently.

Simms keep sending me free new pairs of Gsomething Boa's. I'll keep using them, but always have a backup pair of stringed boots. I learned my lesson.

I guess you keep snapping the Boa laces? You know you're not supposed to use a torque wrench to tighten those, right?

Love my Korkers Greenbacks -- comfy as it gets. Plus I can switch from felt to cleats (among other options) if I need to.

Try on a pair of Korkers with the socks and waders at the fly shop to find your best fit then use the felt soles for normal stuff then order some of these for the slick as snot stuff korkers soles.

I bought a pair of Korker Darkhorse boots at the fly shop last time I was at BB. They have a pair of black felt soles but don't look like the ones in the Korker ad. Different from regular felt but not as coarse material as the ones pictured. I've used the Boa lace system for 4-5 years with no problems at all. Pretty much if I'm fishing or kayaking I've got them on. Really like the sole system to exchange soles depending on conditions and/or regulations. Very comfortable and drain water quickly when you get out of the water. Not heavy on your feet like other wading boots I've had. Never tried their lace up boots but I would bet they're comfortable and comparable to the ones I have. My favorite soles are the studded felt or studded rubber. I've heard the Korker run on the small size but hasn't been my experience, however I did buy the new Darkhorse boots one size larger just for cold water and waders. My others are pretty snug with wool socks and neoprene stocking foot waders. Regular wet wading my normal shoe size is just fine.

I need new boots this winter and leaning towards the Korkers also. The Darkhorse look very inviting.
