I have not been able to find the Day Use Area. Could someone please provide detailed directions? Also, do you need to pay a fee to park there and fish?

Day use is not accessible for wading until stop logs come out. Go up stream from fly shop, turn left toward the river, when you see a small rusted gate, turn left again down to rivers edge. Directly south of the stables if on google earth. Nice riffle right at the put-in, lots of runs and holes for about 200 yards downstream. It's a lake right now, wait till after thanksgiving.

Another hint: The gate is in the same loop with Fern and Hickory campgrounds, right about in the middle of it. A sign says words to the effect of "No Overnight Camping".

Thanks captwoody/golferjeff/jonbo.
FYI, I just returned from BB. The low water made for some very difficult fishing conditions. In the Hickory Hole and Evening Hole, The trout were sporadically responding to small olive emergers, cream midges, and light cahill (whitefly) spinners. Given that whiteflies like to hover over faster water, they were seen in higher numbers at the upstream end of the evening hole.

Only landed 1 14 inch bow, but hooked up with 2 monsters. 1st one I'm willing to bet was 24". He raced upstream and then took me around a rock and snapped my tippet (6X). 2nd was a hen of 20 or so inches and I just couldn't keep the hook in her. Had a few other short hook-ups and missed a few very short takes. The low water indeed has them pretty shy right now. Need some big rains to get the lake up a few feet -- it's probably the lowest I've seen it right now.

Glad you got to hook into some! So what does it take to increase flow from the spillway?

Flows are low for bridge repair.

60 cfs is half the normal recent flow.... the agreement was for 120 i think. They'll keep it low until the bridge is done and they get the equipment out of there. Thanks, Peter.
