I read this recently and wanted to share -
This story did not happen to me but to a guide/friend of mine and being a part time guide myself allows me to be able to relate…sort of. Guide/friend is floating two clients down an east coast tailwater. Things are going well and fish are being caught. Out of the blue the sport in the back of the boat needs to hit the bank in a bad way. Guide rows the sport over to the bank and in a flash he is out of the boat and up into the woods to take care of business. He doesn’t bother taking off his vest or any other gear. Guide and the other client wait patiently in the boat. Once everyone is settled back in and getting ready to return to fishing the guide begins to smell something rank. It won’t go away so he turns to the sport and asks if he possibly stepped in anything while he was out of the boat. Nope, says the client. My boots are clean. The odor continues to follow them down the river. It then hits the guide like a bolt of lightening. He turns to the client behind him and says, “turn around”. Client does and there in his net hanging off the back of his vest is a massive, stinky turd. In his haste to drop his waders and pants, client didn’t take off his vest and unknowingly took a dump in his own net. Guide rows client back over to the bank and has him hurl the net into the woods where it still resides to this day.

The same thing happened years ago on a Sandhill Crane hunt except that guy crapped in the hood of his hoodie!

Had something similar happen at deer camp many years ago. We knew something bad had happened when the guy came walking back into camp in his underwear while holding his camo coveralls out at arms length.LOL

My buddy Rob and I refer to that as a headless brown trout.

Mmm. Never want to net that kind of brown trout.... Now that's funny. I kinda feel for the next trout that got netted by that guy.

Many many years ago when I used to do more than my fair share of drinking urgent nature calls were not unusual. A buddy and I were fishing a cranberry bog lake in northern WI and I had a rain poncho I'd borrowed from a buddy back at our camp. He was kind of a dick about his stuff and I had to promise not to hurt his precious poncho. Well, sure enough the beer and pickled eggs and pig's feet from night before hit and I told buddy to row for shore at fast as he could. Hit shore, jumped out, dropped necessary items and let fly. Heard this splattering sound and realized I hadn't lifted the Poncho. Told buddy to get out of boat and cut the whole back half of the poncho off with his knife and needless to say old Bernie was not real happy when I returned his poncho that evening.

Well, hopefully we don't make any memories like these during the trout camp weekend. Well, I hope I am not the one making the memories! yes, I am selfish.

Well, just remember to take off your vest and clear your net before dropping your waders!

On a related note my son was hunting with a buddy when he had a call of nature. My son loaned him his pack of handy wipes and his buddy was so impressed he decided to buy some himself. On their next duck hunt the buddy again had a call of nature and headed into the woods with his new wipes. My son heard a loud scream and the buddy comes running out of the bushes, pants around his ankles, and sits in the icy marsh water. It seems he had purchased Clorox Bleach wipes, and poked it right in the "eye"!!

Lived in L.A., dated an industry girl for awhile. She was behind the camera, not in front. That is a story to be shared at Trout Camp!
