I see in a email from ODWC that they just stocked 2300 trout on December 14, 2017. Do these fish have a chance to get Big or are they fished out pretty regular by people keeping them?

That depends on whether the fish were placed in a "Red Zone", which is a Catch & Release area or a "Blue Zone", where people can legally keep 6 fish (Rainbows).

2299 of them will get fished out. Most stocked fish these days are in the 9-13" range. The red zones are not getting many fish on the ODWC stockings. The Feds did put a few thousand in various red zones a few weeks back.

There will be another dumping off at the bridges batch next week as well. And most likely they'll be so small you wouldn't want to keep and clean 6, even though everyone does and then some.
I'm headed down tomorrow thru Jan 2 and will update as to where the masses are congregated, hopefully the Blizzard will run them off.

Pretty sure I'm off work all next week and will probably make it down at some point. Might even camp a night or 2.

You can always buy her some waders and immerse her into FF. Just wading is fun for those that don't fish my wife said.
Split time hiking and FF, works great for a weekend. That formula got my wife to catching fish.
She started hanging with me and reading at the shore last April and this week she caught her first fish.

I plan on going up sometime the last week of January 2018 so I’m interested in the reports as well. It will be my first time fishing LMF so I’m looking forward to it.

Rain on Friday has the river muddy, no fish in SC, a few down stream from Swim Beach Bridge. a few downstream of EH Bridge. Stop Logs in so no migrating of the Natives from La. No generation since the 18th so they can replace the Power House Chain link fence. Few guys around but it's Cold, and any breeze makes it REAL Cold. Going to hit the ReReg tomorrow will post back if anything changes.
They should stock this week so I'll watch for that activity and hopes it not a few thousand 9'rs.

Looking like Thursday/Friday (and possibly Saturday) will be the days I'm there. I'm probably just gonna "camp out" at the Charles Wesley in BB. LOL

I was on a guide trip all day Friday and the muddy water was not from the rain. All of the serious mud is coming from the bridge repair. It was bad all last week, not just the rainy day. It was actually better Friday, because the river didn't blow out until around 4:00 pm. Also, I took my trip to Spillway on Thursday for the afternoon BWO emergence and there are definitely still fish in there. At some point, they just quit chasing lures and bait!

No, due to Peter's correct input..... Progress at Cold Hole has it muddy past the swim beach bridge..... where there were 22 folks today, and why is anyone's guess since there is NO Fish there.....
