Uhh. If we are catching and releasing, why do we have a cutting board? Is there some kind disclosure that you need to share? Haha. You have a great family! Nice choices!!

Stephen,
Is that a "brown phase" Ruffed Grouse skin to go with the "grey phase" you posted earlier?
PS: And what is the story with exchanging gifts on 31 Dec?

Ken- I'm guessing so on the grouse. The greyish skin has more big feathers, the new brownish one has lots of small feathers. We do gifts with my wife's family because they go to Texas on Christmas. Also got a nice single-forged camp axe and a multi tool.

Nice guys! I do need to get a wading staff.
The Orvis Practicaster has been a bit of fun.

Troutbum - I am sure you know this, but your cup matches your sweater! Well coordinated. I look like misfit when I fish I believe.
No Christmas fishing gear, but I bought myself a Skagit Commando Head and some tips. Going to be ready for that kayak trip down the Glover or Buffalo in the Spring.

Dawg, I got the same DVD for Xmas. Lots of organizers and such, too. I have played a lot of golf in Nevada, but no trout fishing available. Zion Nat'l Park (Virgin river) would be a great trout river in winter, but I bet it gets hot in the summer. Maybe Tyler can chime in if he still follows this board?

Allow me to recommend the Cabelas $40 wading staff. It's good and in my opinion, gets the job done. If you're an idiot like me and wade in swift water, it comes in handy. However, if it's really swift, the current makes the staff vibrate pretty bad. But it's still a good base to lean on as you wade. That Fishpond of Dawg's is probably super duper nice.

I seem to be quite photo challenged anymore but had a great Christmas none the less. Exchanged my Greune Outfitters gift cards for Umpqua Ledges 650 ZS Waist Pack and Fishpond Nomad net at 20% off price and treated myself (with recently acquired poker winnings ) to a Mystic Reaper 4 weight rod. I'm in high cotton for a long time. That Upmqua wading belt is quite nice as is the Fishpond wading staff. I can also recommend the Cabelas wading staff. Easy to carry on your wading belt but is quite sturdy in support when you need it. I've had mine for 3 years and it's come in handy many times.
