I have the Modern Nymphing DVD, just received a Lance Egan Nymphing Leader and am waiting on a Orvis Recon 10' 3wt.
I predict I will be a legend in my own mind before the month is up. That is all.

Ok, all kidding aside. I now see why people say to build leaders out of Maxima. This leader is much stiffer than the Rio Euro leader I have been using with the sighter section being much stiffer also. The Rio sighter material is about the same stiffness as the same size tippet [2x or 3x] or maybe a tad softer. The sighter on their leaders is the Cortland mono if I remember right and is about the same stiffness as the Maxima. This thing should actually cast much better or so I would think.
Now, if I just knew what the heck I was doing

On stream experience is the best for learning! Just take the stuff out and toss some flies around to help get a feel for it because it’s kind of weird after using normal methods for a long time! Just focus on figuring out the “casting” and watch the sighter because it will slow down once the flies are in the bottom cushion

Nice meeting you Bill. It was some pretty tough fishing this weekend. I hope you guys did well. It was great to finally meet you in person as well as getting to meet your wife and Evan. I did about my usual where the others catch 2 or 3 to my 1 but I'm used to that. I really enjoyed watching and talking to some of the guys fishing Hickory stretch. I learned some things I am doing wrong so I can try to do it better next time I try that style. I kind of wished I would have followed y'all around some more but I was having fun fishing plus they move/wade wayyyyy faster than I'm able to. I hope giving them the bandanas wasn't too corny but I wanted them to have something from Texas and I received way more of those than I needed with the UNT season tickets. I hope everyone had a great and safe trip and Scott and his family has a safe drive back.

Super jealous right now, I wanted to meet them younguns! I bet that sure was a sight to see in SE Oklahoma. I hope they enjoyed the visit to Little Dixie, especially the river.

It was a great three days on the river. Fishing was tough. I think that USACE shutting the flow down completely a week ago for three hours really affected the fish. We caught them in areas where there are usually none, and the normal areas had very few. We had team members there from as far away as OR, Pa, and NC.

Great kids, very polite and courteous. Enjoyed talking to some of them as well as some of the other parents. Bill is right, they move really quick if nothing is happening in a spot. Fishing was tough, and very cold once your waders developed a leak (Brrrrrr.....). I can't wait to see the Oklahoma Outdoors stuff.

I would like to thank Eddie and Aaron for their time to make the boys feel at home at the Fly Shop, Peter for spending time with the boys on and off the water, and Roberta for baking some great desserts for everyone to enjoy.
Everyone on the water was great to the team, and I hope we didn't bother too many fisherman moving quickly through the water for the team members to get their practice in preparing for Poland.
The Park Rangers were great stopping by to meet everyone and offering to help out in any way.
ODWC and Outdoor Oklahoma spent two days on the water with the team also.
