We are there the 15th thru the 18th 16-19th so if you are with Peter Sat or Sunday morning I might see y’all. I’m a short fat guy with a red Jeep wearing clearance waders, hat, sunglasses, and a back brace for a wading belt.
Anything you can use to flatten the barb will work. Only needs done in EH and Zone II.

Dude you forgot about the clearance Simms boots. BTW, I got screwed out of the wading pants. They said they ran out before mine shipped. Just got a email from Cabelas. My order was cancelled due to a major pricing error and the vendor will not ship them out.

On the serious side, I strongly recommend having the screw-in cleats in the soles of your wading boots. There are plenty of angled, slippery rocks especially in Zone 2 and Spillway Creek.

I got my non-serated needle-nosed pliers at Home Depot. They're around. You have to look for them. I mash the barb on all my flies so I'll never have a problem with the "law". Fish do get off that wouldn't have. OTOH, it makes it pretty easy to release a caught fish.

If you need good barb smashing pliers they have two kinds at the shop. The flat needle nose kind or the ones that I like that are hemostat type that smash barbs, remove hooks, clean eyes and have scissors all in one

I was on the river on Thrusday and Friday. Fishing was somewhat inconsistent, but lots of big fish were about. I caught 6 that went 18+. Sorry for the low quality. I just did some quick rudimentary screen caps from my gopro. The biggest one, in the first pic, was shaped like a damn buffalo. Look at those shoulders! The second pic was just a beautiful holdover "wild" fish. Dark colors, well proportioned, nice long jaw, full fins, and devoid of nubs and raw spots. The third pic - It's always good when a fish is too big for your net.

Congrats texanfisherman
We fished Thursday afternoon, Friday and Saturday afternoon We caught a few fish but nothing like those
We could have probably done better if we knew what we were doing 😄
Main thing we noticed this trip was that there were very few fish to be seen Previous trips we could see lots of fish even though we couldn’t tempt them to bite
About to pack up and head south
Little glaze of ice on everything this morning here and calling for wintry mix to start any time

Also, most of the fish caught came at one spot in a 3 hour window on Thursday afternoon. The rest of the time the river was very very quiet. As you said, I didn't see many fish at all, I didn't see much rising activity, and I didn't see other people catching a whole lot either. Every fish I caught on this trip came on a very heavy pink squirminator fished bumping on the bottom.

Awww c'mon you guys! Great report on some bigger fish but this entire post oughta reside within the preexisting Fishing Reports folder found directly below the General Board folder. If you were ever wondering where all the previous fishing reports are....well now ya know. Saves clicking around a bit. Just sayin' I've yet to wet a line up here in the D.C. suburbs where I moved at the end of September but when I do it'll get posted in the Non Local Waters folder.
