Todd - Browns are catch and release already. There are signs too. All paid for by the LMFRF. Browns are also known for finding better hidey holes. Just ask the guys that know how to fish mid-spillway.... Ooops. I guess I should have known that. I release everything anyhow, but I guess I need to read the signs once in a while. But Peter, I promise I won't release the Brookies this summer. I am on board. Release into the grease!

Browns are 20 inch minimum everywhere, which pretty much amounts to C&R. 99.9% of our browns are under 20". That doesn't stop people from keeping them though.

Especially when it's become well known among regular visitors to the Park that regulations aren't enforced.

Really disappointing that there will be no stream or habitat improvements done.

Really disappointing that there will be no stream or habitat improvements done. There was some discussion about spending some money there, but why do it and have the COE wash it away? There just isn't any getting around that it is a flood control area first and foremost. Until it floods again, the habitat for bugs, fish, and people will continue to get better. At least we can catch a few nice Browns before then.....

I understand your point. I would just like to see some of the aesthetics improved. I know the rock pile isn't going anywhere, but what about all of the log piles and left over debris that are not in the river, but piled up on the bank, couldn't they be hauled off? Fairly inexpensive to come into the former Lost Creek area and plant some native trees and grasses, just contact the NRCS or ESA.
I picked up over 3 bags of trash over the last 3 days of fishing; water bottles, beer cans, plastic baits, fishing line. I usually wear a backpack when on the river to store my extra gear. Its sad when I have leave gear in my truck and use my bag to pick up trash. This used to not be a problem. For me one of the main draws to LMFR is how pretty the area is.

New park manager coming on board. Hopefully they will have some agenda or areas of emphasis that incorporate these kinds of needs.
