Well I finally had a day off so I decided to go hunting for smallies. As it turned out, the water temps went down since last week with the color nights and the cold fronts. I ended up coming up on a flat where all the Buffalo were out sunning and feeding. I wasn’t able to get my normal carp flies to set down in front of them because of the current so I switched to my size 4 crawdad pattern with lead eyes and went hunting for the bigger ones of the group. I ended up getting this ole gal but there was the biggest buffalo I’ve ever seen (roughly 2x times the size of this one) in too deep of water to get the fly down in.
